Paton Park is a versatile site, with a range of facilities available for use

Accommodation

The Park has sufficient bed accommodation for 55 persons and is comprised of;

All three bunk areas are equipped with mattresses and are heated by wood heaters.

There are 3 separate shower & toilet blocks. These being 1 male, 1 female and 1 unisex which may be designated male or female by the camp leader.

Camping

South west of the lodge there is a large (1.3 ha) cleared area of land available for camping. 

The Campground has a basic facilities, with a toilet block, small hut and running water. A number of taps situated around the campground supply water to the area. We recommend water at the campground be boiled prior to drinking.

The hut  is small and cosy, and is equipped with a small wood heater. This can be used for small meetings, storage, a first aid station or just as a leaders evening retreat.

The toilet block has flushing toilets and handwashing facilities. There are currently no shower facilities available at the campground.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well appointed and can cater for large numbers. It is fitted with a large gas cooktop and electric oven, along with a fridge, freezer, microwave, urn, toaster, plus more.

All worktops are stainless steel, including a portable bench, which can be moved depending on your requirements. 

There is a large amount of cutlery & crockery available for use, along with a large range of pots, pans and utensils.

Mess Hall / Activities Area

Adjacent to the kitchen and main bunkroom is the mess hall / activity room. This area has a large number of tables and chairs, some audio visual equipment, and a whiteboard. 

The room is heated by a large wood heater. Wood is pre cut and can be obtained from the wood shed behind the main lodge.

Outdoor Facilities

Between the main lodge and external dormitories there is an open air, undercover, eating area and washing up facility. This area also has some gas BBQs for your use, but make sure you bring your own gas.

To the south of the main lodge there are 2 wood fired BBQs with an undercover area (pictured).

Adjacent to the BBQ area is an outdoor chapel, including bench seating.

North of the main lodge there is a large flat grassed area which can be used to run your outdoor activities. Please note no camping is permitted in this area. All camping must be at the campground.

Activities / Meeting Room

East of the main lodge is a separate meeting or activities room. This room has power, an electric stove, and a whiteboard, along with tables and chairs. This space has endless possibilities, including use for meetings, activities, showing films,  or storing equipment.

The use of this facility is standard with a Lodge Booking.

Campfire Circle

Close by is a campfire area surrounded by timber seating. Fallen timber from within the park may be gathered for campfire use.  

Cut firewood is not to be used for campfires. Groups found to be using cut firewood for campfire purposes will be billed accordingly.

Abseiling Tower

Paton Park has it's own Abseiling Tower & Climbing Wall which can be hired separately as an add-on to your booking. 

Use of the facility will only be permitted if our stringent safety criteria are fully met.

Challenge Course

Surrounding the lodge area is a physical fitness challenge course. The course is approximately 800m in length, features a range of natural and built obstacles, and is designed to challenge those willing to take it on. 

Walking Trails

There are many cleared and well maintained walking tracks within the park, approximately 4.5 km in total. They link up with each other enabling a reasonable round trip hike to be made within the boundaries of the park.
